  • Joseph Shatzmiller, Smart Family distinguished professor of judaica in the Department of History at Duke University
  • Sander L. Gilman, distinguished professor of the liberal arts and sciences at the Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts at Emory University
  • John M. Efron, the KoretChair in jewish history at the University of California, Berkeley
  • Gad Freudenthal, visiting professor of religious studies at Yale University
  • Charles Berlin, the Lee M. Friedman bibliographer in judaica at the Harvard College Library at Harvard University

The Countway Library will be hosting a one-day symposium and exhibit on the role of Jews in the history of medicine. The exhibit will be on view all day at the library’s first floor, a reception will be held at 5 p.m. Symposium lectures by five internationally recognized and renowned scholars in medieval history and Jewish studies will be held from 10 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. The complete list of speakers and lecture topics can be found in the symposium program.
