Combining studies in protein interaction, gene expression, and RNA interference,
a team of researchers including Marc Vidal has developed a broad model of “molecular
machines” operating in C. elegans during the first moments of life. The
model networks revealed previously unknown protein associations.

Caregivers and supplies from HMS-affiliated hospitals have been aiding the
victims of Hurricane Katrina. Above is the emergency
department tent for Gulf Coast Memorial Hospital in Biloxi, Miss., where
a contingent from Children’s provided care.
