Findings Recommend Herpes Vaccine for Human Trials
A study of three different experimental vaccines against the virus that causes most cases of genital herpes gives evidence that the vaccine developed by David Knipe is a strong candidate for clinical trials. Knipe's vaccine, called dl5-29, outperformed the other two therapies, one of which has already undergone testing in humans.

Faculty Applications Sought for Fellowship in Medical Education
The Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education is requesting HMS faculty members to apply for this one-year fellowship that begins this summer and focuses on medical education or academic administration. The fellowship takes its name from Mitchell Rabkin (above), former president of Beth Israel Hospital and CEO of CareGroup. The application deadline is February 4.
