Outreach Opportunities Form First Lesson for Incoming Students
From August 23 to 27, 55 incoming Harvard medical and dental students familiarized themselves with the Boston community by participating in the pre-orientation program FUNC (First-year Urban Neighborhood Campaign). Led by second-year students, FUNC is a community service program taking place the week before orientation that introduces outreach opportunities to first-year students. This year's program involved participation at six different sites: Cambridge Institute for Community Health, Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, Casa Nueva Vida, Boston Living Center, Community Servings, and Dimock Early Head Start Program.
