Focus: A DNA microarray analysis of hundreds of tumors reveals a gene activation pattern that predicts whether the tumor will spread to other parts of the body. Unexpectedly, these genes associated with metastasis were found in some early tumors, suggesting that certain tumors may be predisposed to spread. |
