Protein Components Identified in RNA Splicer

A proteomic analysis of the cell's RNA splicer, the spliceosome, identifies for the first time the complete set of proteins involved in this molecular machine. Led by Robin Reed (right) and Zhaolan Zhou, the research also shows evidence for a network of proteins that coordinates gene expression.
