Focus:
RNA Technology Thwarts HIV

Researchers from HMS and MIT have applied a technique using short RNA sequences to block protein synthesis in the cell to thwart HIV. The proof-of-principle study by Premlata Shankar, Judy Lieberman (l to r) , and colleagues demonstrates two modes of counterattack, preventing viral entry and inhibiting replication.
