Enzyme Linked to Pathology of Parkinson's Disease Appears Two-faced

An enzyme tied to Parkinson's disease seems not only to facilitate the recycling of proteins in nerve cells but also to jam up the recycling process. Researchers led by Peter Lansbury believe this second action may contribute to the disease.

Science Seminars Extend Reach into Community
Now in its third year, the community education program Science in the News has outgrown its original lecture hall at HMS and even spun off a series at the Museum of Science in Boston. The program was founded by graduate student Liz Hick, in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program.
