Anatomy of Anatomy

book cover

A photo exhibit in the third-floor atrium of Gordon Hall, which runs through October, shows first-year medical students in anatomy lab, working with cadavers to explore the human body. The images are accompanied by journal entries from the students who participated. Photographer Meryl Levin took all the pictures in the 1998 Anatomy Dissection and Imaging Laboratory at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Along with the students' text, the images also appear in book form. The exhibit and publication were made possible by a grant from the Open Society Institute's Project on Death in America while the exhibit was brought to HMS by the Division of Medical Ethics and the Committee on Artistic and Memorial Objects.
