Student SceneAugust 30, 2001
White Coat Day 2001The traditional White Coat Ceremony took place on August 30 this year in each of the student societies. Donning a white coat is a rite of passage for incoming students, allowing them to dress the part of a doctor as they begin learning to become one.
Shown above is Daniel Lowenstein, dean for medical education, as he addresses the new first-year class.
Joseph Martin, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, welcomes the new students to HMS from the steps of Gordon Hall. Follow links to the societies at left for more photos of White Coat Day, and note that we will be adding to these images during the week. So be sure to come back. All photos by Steve Gilbert. |
