Early Decision: How Embryonic Stem Cells Become Fine-tuned Brains

Researchers led by Michael Greenberg report that a protein known to usher embryonic stem cells toward becoming neurons does so by blocking them from becoming glial cells. The insight may help researchers better control stem cells for therapeutic uses.
