The Case of the Misnamed Kinase

A collaboration between researchers in Italy and at HMS, including Li-Huei Tsai (left) and Rani Dhavan, has solved the crystal structure of the Alzheimer's implicated cdk5 paired with a neurotoxic partner. The architecture reveals a surprising mechanism for cdk5 activation.
