Genes Controlling Fat Cell Differentiation Identified in Mice
Gökhan Hotamisligil and colleagues have discovered two genes that appear to govern differentiation from adipose stem cells to fat cells. If these genes could be manipulated, still a distant goal, weight loss and gain could theoretically be controlled.
