Unleashing One Human Scourge Against Another

Antonio Chiocca and colleagues have found a way to launch cancer-killing virus particles against virulent brain tumors: they weakened the blood–brain barrier with a chemotherapy drug, enabling the virus to pass through, infecting and destroying the cancer cells. The researchers worked with human tumors implanted in rats.
