Genes Found that Unravel Methylation Mystery

en li et al Two genes, discovered by En Li (front, left) and colleagues, encode enzymes that attach methyl groups to DNA. Methylation has a powerful influence on gene regulation in the growing embryo, silencing the expression of some genes. The discovery may have implications for certain birth defects and cancer.

Fourth-Year Students Complete First Comprehensive Clinical Exam

The fourth-year class has just completed its first standardized comprehensive clinical exam, which was based on the objective structured clinical exam (OSCE) format. The initial review was a big production, involving 129 faculty examiners and eight days of student testing.
